Linksys EA4500 is a Dual-band wireless router with gigabit Ethernet ports.

EA4500 also has USB port for storage device or printer sharing. You can connect USB storage device to the router and share the storage device in the network. Or you can connect your USB printer and start printing from all the computers in the network.

This router has guest network feature which can allow up to 50 guest computers. Grant Internet access to visiting friends and family, while keeping your own information protected. The Guest Access feature makes sharing Internet access to other wireless devices possible while maintaining maximum security to your home network.  It allows you to provide Internet access up to 50 guests visiting your home without granting them access to your local network. So your primary network and the guest access will be different. You will be able to see 2 wireless SSIDs. One is your main SSID which will show you secured wireless access. You can use your family or office computers on this main SSID. Just connect to the main SSID and access the secured wifi Internet.

How to setup EA4500 using Cisco connect software?

EA4500 comes with the Cisco connect software. Connect the computer and modem to the router. Check the light status on the router. Run the Cisco connect software and you are done. Installation software will change all the settings for you. If you have DSL connection then you will need to enter the PPPoE password for the internet connection. At the end you will see the name of your wireless network and the password of the network. The guest SSID shows unsecured but there is a password to the guest network also. You can later change the wireless settings also.

How to setup Linksys EA4500 manually?

Like other wireless Linksys routers, you can also setup EA4500 manually. You just need to open the setup page of the router and change the settings manually. Setup page is the page where you will see all the settings of the router.

Step 1) Attach the computer directly to the modem and make sure that Internet is working when you connect the computer directly to the modem.

Step 2) Plug the modem and computer to the router. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router.

Step 3) Open the setup page of the router and change the Internet connection settings. So that your main computer can access the Internet.

Step 4) Change the wireless network settings. Create a new secured wireless network. You can also change the guest access settings.

Step 5) Connect all your wireless computers and devices to the network.
